Be Still… exploring silent prayer in the Christian Tradition
Be Still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46).
When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you (Matthew 6 vs 6).
A very warm welcome to Be Still, the Chichester Contemplative Prayer Group based in the Cathedral City of Chichester, UK. We provide opportunities in this busy world to stop and sit in peace with others, and with God.
Next meetings are on 5th December and 19th December
We also organise study days.
The next is on 27th January:
'The Life and works of Evelyn Underhill' with Father Earl Collins
Evelyn Underhill is one of the most important Anglican theologians there has ever been. Her book 'Mysticism', first published in 1911, transformed the understanding of silent prayer.
